  1. How to learn Dutch in less time

Hi and welcome to the Forum. You've started the right way; start with the basics, then once you have those mastered you can move on.  Most non-native speakers find that it's their native tongue accents that make them difficult to understand when they speak in another language.  The only real way to improve on that is to speak the language, talk to yourself in Dutch, but not only yourself, talk to your family, your pets, your plants; you're trying to sound more like a Dutch person and less like an Indian. There is an online resource called "Naar Nederland" which is an online-based Dutch language course; the official course has to be paid for, but some kind person has put older versions on YouTube, so my advice is to check out YouTube first and see how you get on. Hope this helps

Hi and welcome to the Forum. If you've been turned away by both Belgium and the Netherlands, it suggests to me that there is something not quite right.  The only reason they would not have told you why is if there is something in your background that makes both countries decide to turn you away without appeal (for example criminality); many countries require at least 12 months after a crime is deemed as spent before they will even consider an application to reside there. If that is not relevant and you have appealed in either country, then they must have told you why because it's the basis of your appeal. If you are determined then perhaps you need to speak to a lawyer. Hope this helps

Hi and welcome to the Forum. Elementary school starts at age 4 and is compulsory; before that, it's childcare and you have to pay for it - the lottery element I guess indicates they have a waiting list, but school before age 4 is not obligatory. I just did a quick Google search for "elementary school in haarlem netherlands" (link), I got a lot of hits - so there is no shortage of schools there.  You won't be able to register your child for any school until you have registered and got your BSN from the local council where you live. When we moved there, we just registered, and walked over to our nearest school, helped the Headmaster climb down from the tree he had got himself stuck in, had a chat with him over a cup of coffee and then registered our 3 kids there.  We never had any problems with the Dutch education system; the main issue that expats have is they expect it to be just like home, it isn't. Please come back to us if you have any further specific questions. Hope this helps

Hi again. In as much that it is a combined work and residence visa, yes, they are the same.  The HSM has statutory salary limits, but can be obtained in a much quicker time-frame, but the sponsor must be registered with the IND to use this scheme. Hope this helps

Hi and welcome to the Forum. I guess the keyword is residence; you need to have been resident in the Netherlands for 5 years in order to apply.  Residence doesn't mean you can't ever leave, but they expect you to live and work in the Netherlands, pay your taxes there, integrate into Dutch society, not just use it as a place to park your bike while you are away. If you have any further specific questions, please come back to us. Hope this helps 'n groetje

Hi again, The latest advice in the Netherlands is that if your temperature is over 38 degrees celsius, you should contact your GP or municipal health service (GGD); you haven't said where you live, but this map (link) contains the locations and contact information for all of them. There is no cure for Coronavirus, you can only treat the symptoms, so drink plenty of water to keep hydrated and treat the high temperature (take some paracetamol). Hope this helps

Hi and welcome to the Forum. You have already done what the law requires you to do, i.e. contact the Gemeente to register; many people wait weeks/months just to get an appointment, so I wouldn't worry about it.  If you explain the circumstances, I suspect it won't be a problem, just be honest and open with the guys in the Gemeente. Hope this helps
