  1. I am planning to bring my parents for the spring. But confused with the whole process. I approached a travel agency, and they mentioned the process has to be only started by February end, as the travel is planned for April. They mentioned a list of docs for raising visas, but they are not aware of Gementee approval. But some people are saying it is a must. If someone can help me understand the process, that’d be helpful.

I just completed the process for my parents planning to come in April. I did all the process by my own and my parents went for the appointment with the set of documents I provided. It was a smooth process. Try to start as early as possible. You don't need an agent. Let me know if you need an y help with questions

  2. I have a question related to the tourist visa rejection for one of my relatives. I invited my brother-in-law’s family to the Netherlands for tourism who is doing business. They applied for a visa in India and it was rejected now with the reason that, they have doubts about them returning to India after the visa expiry. Does anyone face this issue before and what are the next steps? It was told I can contest on their behalf but I am not sure about the timelines and process.

Visa processing is a mess post pandemic. They are rejecting applications without even properly scrutinizing and at the slightest ever doubt. Embassy is claiming very high workload because of backlog of last 2+years but it looks like just another excuse. My daughter's application was rejected and when I filed for appeal against the decision, they replied after 3.5 months that it was in error. They advised us to resubmit the application and assured of getting visa. It has been more than 2 months that they have not returned her passport and not giving any reason for these horrible delays. Options for you are to file an objection online or submit new application with even more care. It is also helpful to engage an agent who has experience handling rejected cases successfully.

  3. My husband resides in the Netherlands. He applied for a dependent visa for my son and me in IND. We got IND approval for a dependent visa. I have an appointment for the MVV-family stamping at the Netherlands Embassy in Delhi next month. Can anyone address the list of documents to be taken along for my child apart from the apostilled birth certificate and photo to get the MMV stamped?

All the required documents shown on website should be original when you visit. They should be Apostil in English. Also do CARRY XEROX COPIES OF ALL THE DOCUMENTS including passport (At least 2 copies)

  4. My enquiry is regarding the letter of sponsorship needed for a family and friend’s short visa stay. I understand that one must visit the municipality to verify the signature. Presently I am out of NL. Is there any other alternative which doesn’t need to be physically present in NL? Like authorizing someone else or an online process.

As far as I know as I went through this process in July, both partners (if you live with your partner in NL) needs to be there physically for signature otherwise they won’t allow.

You need to apply for insurance here locally in Netherlands (mandatory for everyone), you could choose any health insurer and they will cover you back dated starting from your day of arrival. What you need is your BSN (you will get once you arrive, check with your employer) and bank account details in Netherlands for auto debit of monthly premium. In the meantime, it is wise to take say one or two months over from India

Pensions here can also be one of the government moneymaking schemes. One needs to compare this with other EU countries to decide if its right or something needs to change there, like box 3 taxes...
