  1. My husband resides in the Netherlands. He applied for a dependent visa for my son and me in IND. We got IND approval for a dependent visa. I have an appointment for the MVV-family stamping at the Netherlands Embassy in Delhi next month. Can anyone address the list of documents to be taken along for my child apart from the apostilled birth certificate and photo to get the MMV stamped?

Both father and mother are going to Delhi embassy for stamping? If, both are not going then no objection letter may be required from father. If both are going then it’s not required

Let’s say you are here for 30 days, keep applying on LinkedIn even before you arrive here, once arrived Get a local number. Keep giving interview and explain your situation that you came for tourist purpose but also you found a great opportunity and applied and now here you are attending interviews. The interview process can easily take 2/3 weeks. So yeah, if they want to hire you, they will hire you regardless of your location

You should ideally be fine with either visa or Mastercard. But a lot of places don't accept either. I made a point to just carry some cash, enough for 3-4 weeks; which is usually how long it may take to open a local Dutch bank account (I hear ING is super-fast) but, ABN lets you open without a BSN. Emergency amount should be around 500 euros, I carried 1200 because I wanted to be overprepared

  6. What is the average electricity cost people are paying in Amsterdam? We are a couple; We are about to rent a 1BHK 70m2 square house. Which company is good for electricity and gas? Also, the makelaar is suggesting we pay 310 euros monthly for electric +gas, isn’t that too expensive?

First off 70m2 for a 1BHK is too large. We use budget energie and our contract is 202 euro per month. The contract here is in a way that at the end of year you will get back the extra amount that you paid. So, for example, if my electricity usage is 70 euro per month then I am paying extra 132 which I will get back

For work/job purposes, MVV takes less time; in my experience, I had the appointment on June 13 and got it on June 18. It was maximum 5 days. But for a dependent for my wife, we had the appointment on July 4 and got the passport back 30 almost 20 days. So, make sure to give at least 15 days before reaching out to IND; they will respond stating a lot of applications, and you need to wait
