Using public transport instead of cycling?

I want to move to the Netherlands within 1 or 2 years. I have seen that the Netherlands is known for being very bike friendly and almost everyone use a bike in the Netherlands.

However, my problem is I don’t like cycling and for me, it would be even worse when it’s raining or during bad weather in general and I know, in the Netherlands rains a lot! So, my question is if I can use public transport instead of cycling. Will dutch people think bad about me because I don’t want to use a bike? Is having a bike required for getting a job in The Netherlands?

Of course, I would choose living in Rotterdam or Amsterdam since both cities have metro, tram and bus.

Nobody will think badly of you should you chose to use public transport rather than a bicycle.
