The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) will notify you before your permit expires. You can extend your permit or apply for a new residence permit if you wish to stay in the Netherlands. If you qualify for a different permit, the IND will determine whether you qualify for an extension. You must depart the Netherlands on or before the expiration date of your residence permit if you don’t want to continue living here.
