Tens of thousands of Amsterdam residents leave the city each year, and a large portion of them do so because their homes are too tiny, they dislike their area, and they are dissatisfied with how people interact with one another.

  1. Nearly 74,000 individuals departed the greater Amsterdam area in 2021. Despite the fact that individuals in major cities are accustomed to making concessions, housing costs are rising and the drawbacks are starting to exceed the benefits. Even the mayor said international inhabitants of Amsterdam should not “live in a bubble,” but rather integrate into the neighbourhood by, for example, picking up Dutch and volunteering.
