Recently I applied Visa for my father to visit me in the Netherlands. Today he received his Visa. I found that my father’s name was written twice on the stamp. On my father’s passport Surname is blank. His First name is “Chaitanya Kumar”, and the printed name on the Visa stamp is “Chaitanya Kumar, Chaitanya Kumar”. Will that be an issue?

    It’s not a problem. They do that when the surname field is empty. My parents have the same format and have visited NL twice. Similarly, for flight bookings where they ask for ‘First’ and ‘Last’ names I have been filling ‘Mr.’ and ‘Given name’. So my father’s name shows up on the tickets as Mr. ‘Mr. Given name’.
