The 30% tax ruling in the Netherlands is a tax benefit for expats. It allows eligible employees to receive a tax-free allowance of up to 30% of their salary to compensate for additional expenses related to living and working in the country.

The ruling is granted for a maximum of five years and needs to be applied for by the employer on behalf of the employee. This begins once you enter the Netherlands.
