This differs depending on many different factors, such as age. As it is revised often in order to keep it in line with inflation, this may change. Note: minimum wage is based on a full-time employee (36 \u2013 40 hours per week) \u2013 so that\u2019s what you\u2019re looking at BTW.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, when you start working in the Netherlands, you will be given a fixed-term contract. You may be used to be automatically permanently employed \u2013 but it doesn\u2019t work like that here. You will have a contract and then they will choose whether to extend it when the time comes \u2013 you can have no more than 3 contracts, you must either be let go or employed permanently.<\/p>\n<h2>Help! I don\u2019t understand my Dutch payslip<\/h2>\n<p>Already working in the Netherlands? Okay\u00a0then,\u00a0first of all, let\u2019s tackle those scary Dutch words on a payslip. Here\u2019s a list of words that almost definitely will be present on your payslips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Salaris Periode =<\/em>\u00a0the period of pay<\/li>\n<li><em>Personeelsnummer =\u00a0<\/em>Your\u00a0employee number<\/li>\n<li><em>BSN<\/em>\u00a0= Your Dutch social security number (your BSN)<\/li>\n<li><em>Geboortedatum =<\/em>\u00a0Your date of birth<\/li>\n<li><em>Afdeling\/Functieomschrijving =<\/em>\u00a0Your job role<\/li>\n<li class=\"r\"><em>Anci\u00ebnniteitsdatum<\/em>\/<em>Datum in dienst\u00a0<\/em>= Date you started your employment<\/li>\n<li class=\"r\"><em>Salaris\/uurloon<\/em>\u00a0= Your gross salary (before tax)<\/li>\n<li class=\"r\"><em>Minimumloon =<\/em>\u00a0Minimum wage<\/li>\n<li><em>Verzekerd voor WW\/WiA\/ZW\/Zvw<\/em>\u00a0= social security you contribute to<\/li>\n<li><em>Bijz. tarief\/heffingskorting (ja\/nee)<\/em>\u00a0= tax rate (percentage) \/ general tax credit (yes or no)<\/li>\n<li><em>Gewerkt uren<\/em>\u00a0= Hours worked<\/li>\n<li><em>Sociale verzekeringen (SV)<\/em>\u00a0= Your social security contributions<\/li>\n<li><em>Reiskostenvergoeding =<\/em>\u00a0Transport\u00a0reimbursement cost<\/li>\n<li><em>Totaal Netto =<\/em>\u00a0net salary after everything \u2013 literally what will be paid to you for that month<\/li>\n<li><em>Vakantiegeld<\/em>\u00a0= holiday leave, in hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are eligible for social security premiums, these will also be on your payslip.
